Yeah. Well, I've killed people but not - I think I made myself sound like some kind of murderer, 'cause I didn't want anyone to try to mess with Taako and me. See, I led a rebellion, back home, and when you fight in a rebellion, people are going to die? And then after that, I was a mercenary for a while, but, uh, not killing people. I'm about protecting them, but sometimes that means you get attacked and those attackers are going to get hurt. In both cases, though, they were just, uh, bad guys? I never gave it much thought. But recently, I've had this job where we go try to collect these dangerous magic artifacts from people who are using them before anyone gets hurt. And the thing about that is, the people using the artifacts - some of them have been straight up bad. But some of them were good people who fell under a bad influence, y'know?

One of them almost got me. It was the same as Miki - the chance to stop something awful that happened to a person I love, with a price that would have gotten a lot of people hurt. And the thing is, I didn't turn it down 'cause I was strong or anything. It's just that - I knew she wouldn't have wanted me to save her like that.
I'm not going to kill anybody to win myself a prize. But I understand it.
... I can understand it. Probably easier than I could have if I hadn't lost my sense of justice but... I can't say very much either. We never killed any people, or their shadows, but we killed plenty of spirits that were protecting the palaces.
And may have relied on... emotionally manipulating people. If you want to be strictly literal about what we did.
